Peer Review Process

International Journal of Advanced Academic (IJAA) - Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Advanced Academic (IJAA) employs a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the research it publishes. This process is designed to provide constructive feedback to authors and to help editors make informed decisions. The peer review process involves the following steps:

1. Submission

  • Manuscript Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts through the IJAA online submission system. All necessary files, including the main manuscript, figures, tables, and supplementary materials, should be uploaded.

2. Initial Screening

  • Preliminary Check: The editorial office conducts an initial screening to ensure the submission meets the journal’s basic requirements, including adherence to formatting guidelines and compliance with the journal's scope.
  • Plagiarism Check: The manuscript is checked for plagiarism using appropriate software to ensure originality.

3. Editorial Evaluation

  • Editor Assignment: The manuscript is assigned to an Editor-in-Chief or an Associate Editor with expertise in the relevant field.
  • Initial Assessment: The assigned editor evaluates the manuscript’s relevance, originality, and overall quality. If the manuscript does not meet the journal’s standards, it may be rejected at this stage.

4. Peer Review

  • Reviewer Selection: The editor identifies and invites qualified reviewers who have expertise in the manuscript’s subject area. Typically, two to three reviewers are invited to review each manuscript.
  • Review Invitation: Reviewers receive an invitation to review the manuscript, along with an abstract and keywords. They have the option to accept or decline the invitation based on their expertise, availability, and any potential conflicts of interest.
  • Review Process: Reviewers who accept the invitation are provided access to the full manuscript. They conduct a thorough review, assessing the manuscript’s methodology, validity of data, originality, clarity, and significance of the findings.
  • Review Report: Reviewers submit their detailed comments and recommendations through the journal’s online system. They may recommend one of the following actions: acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, or rejection.

5. Editorial Decision

  • Decision Making: Based on the reviewers’ feedback, the editor makes an informed decision on the manuscript. Possible decisions include:
    • Accept: The manuscript is accepted as is or with minor revisions.
    • Minor Revisions: The authors are requested to make minor changes and resubmit the revised manuscript.
    • Major Revisions: The authors are requested to make substantial changes and resubmit the revised manuscript. The revised manuscript may undergo a second round of peer review.
    • Reject: The manuscript is rejected due to significant flaws or lack of novelty.

6. Revision

  • Author Revisions: If revisions are required, the authors revise the manuscript according to the reviewers’ and editor’s comments and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.
  • Re-evaluation: The revised manuscript is re-evaluated by the editor and, if necessary, sent back to the reviewers for further assessment.

7. Final Decision

  • Acceptance: Once the manuscript meets all the necessary criteria, it is accepted for publication. The authors are notified, and the manuscript proceeds to the production stage.
  • Rejection: If the manuscript fails to meet the required standards after revisions, it is rejected. Authors receive detailed feedback explaining the reasons for rejection.

8. Production and Publication

  • Copyediting: The accepted manuscript undergoes copyediting to ensure clarity, coherence, and conformity with the journal’s style.
  • Proofreading: Authors receive proofs for final review and approval before publication.
  • Publication: The final version of the manuscript is published online and made available to the global academic community.

9. Post-Publication

  • Post-Publication Feedback: The journal welcomes post-publication feedback and discussions, which can be facilitated through comments or letters to the editor.
  • Corrections and Retractions: Any necessary corrections or retractions are handled promptly to maintain the integrity of the academic record.

The IJAA is committed to a fair, transparent, and timely peer review process to ensure the publication of high-quality research that contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge across disciplines.
